Taken I'll on Duty, Patrolman Dies - Henry E. Auld, Stricken in Radio Car Succumbs at His Home
Stricken Shortly after he reported for duty last night, Henry, E. Auld, Eastern District Patrolman, died about an hour after returning to his home at 4109 Marx Ave. Auld, who was 39 years old, reported to the station house at approximately . 11 o'clock last night and assumed his usual place in the crew of a radio car. After working for about an hour, he complained to his fellow-officer that he felt ill. They returned to the station house, and Auld was relieved and taken home in a motor machine.

Mrs. Anna Auld, the officers widow, told Patrolman Frank Andrewjeski and Joseph O'Donnell, sent to the house to investigate the death, that her husband died at about 1:30 am He came home, she said, and while complaining that he was ill, she mentioned that his hands felt numb. He retired to the sofa in the front room, where he died. Auld was appointed to the police department in April 1923 and was assigned to the Eastern District. He had served there ever since. Besides his widow, the patrolman is survived by three children. Coroner Paul Schenker, of the Northeastern District, is investigating.
